Infertility is generally defined as inability of couples of reproductive age to conceive within 12 months through unprotected sexual intercourse. Since most couples (approximately 85%) will attain pregnancy within one year, this diagnosis affects about 1 in 6 Australian couples attempting to conceive.
The basic causes of infertility are as follows: 50% female, 35% male, 10% unexplained, and 5 % other causes. There are numerous causes for infertility in both men and women.
While Western Medicine emphasises on monitoring and using hormones to reach pregnancy, Eastern Medicine aims at the health of the whole body. Infertility is a sign of imbalance.
